Our mission is to improve fire fighting performance through graduates who are well schooled in the latest advances in fire science.
Larry Bennett, Esq. has been an attorney for over 39 years. He was a federal prosecutor in Washington. D.C. for nine years, and a former D.C. police officer. He moved to Cincinnati and has been a volunteer Firefighter / EMT for the past 30 years. He has taught at the National Fire Academy, Executive Fire Officer program, and was appointed by the NFA in 2007 as a "subject matter expert" in Fire & EMS Law to update their Degrees as a Distance Program curriculum. The NFA selected his textbook, "Fire Service Law" (Prentice Hall / Brady, 2008) for use by all universities and colleges in the DDP course, "Political & Legal Foundations of Fire Protection." He writes a Fire & EMS and Safety newsletter which updates the textbook; firefighters nationwide have signed up at www.aero.uc.edu/firescience
How do I apply to the college?
To officially pursue our degree at the University of Cincinnati, fill out an Admission Application Form and send it along with a non-refundable application fee to the Office of Admissions, University of Cincinnati, PO Box 210091, Cincinnati, OH 45221-0091 or fill out an application on line at http://admissions.uc.edu/. Students must send high school transcripts and all college transcripts to the Admissions Office. Once you receive an offer letter, please mail back the requested information (Supplemental Information form) along with the matriculation fee (only if you will be a full-time student), to indicate that you intend to accept admittance to the program. Once that form has been returned and you are confirmed. Transcripts, certificates, etc. will be pulled. You will then receive a letter and curriculum sheet listing all advanced standing and degree requirements.
